B-2 Visa Extension
Requirements
You must meet the following requirements to pursue a B-2 visa extension
- You must have an unexpired B-2 or other visa
- You must be able to prove all elements of the B-2 visa (which vary by country)
- You must be able to explain to the BCIS (formerly known as the INS) why you wish to remain in the U.S. for longer than the term of his original visa
- You must be prepared to supply proof of sufficient funds to support yourself in the United States
- You must have convincing ties to your home country
Duration of Visa
If the extension is approved, it is generally granted
for three to
six months.
